Aztech Engineering Solutions Ltd. have received Leader + funding from the Newry and Mourne local action group. The award will enable Aztech to manufacture a patented leak detection machine for use directly on the production line. This in-line ‘Flexicheck’ leak detection machine uses vacuum force technology to detect leaks across a range of flexible sealed MAP, Vacuum or Ambient packed goods. The technology works particularly well within the food industry e.g. ready meals, cheese blocks or bags and processed meat products. In addition there are also applications for the technology within pharmaceutical, medical device and healthcare industries.
For 100% in-line inspection, the machine tests every pack coming from the packaging equipment, using the test results to reject leaking packs, the technology provides an early warning of packaging problems and information for process control.

Aztech Engineering Solutions Ltd. have recently launched an innovative range of patented leak detection systems which offer full inspection on flexible sealed packaged products found within the food, pharmaceutical and medical device industries. These machines provide a unique approach to leak detection by offering a tailored solution ranging from off-line sampling to inline inspection machines performing 100%, non-destructive inspection.
The machines have the capacity to test every pack coming from a packaging machine, using the results of the testing to reject leaking packs and provide early warning of packaging problems and information for process control. The machines have the advantage of being non-subjective and the integrated leak detection process negates the need for manual input and thus removes potential human error. All rejected product can potentially be returned to a production line for repackaging, as the machines are also non-destructive, unlike the bubble emission test for example.

The Smart Award scheme, sponsored by Invest NI, aims to help small businesses develop new products and processes to improve their competitiveness.
Aztech Engineering Solutions Ltd. has received an award to aid the creation of a highly innovative plastering application machine that will benefit the construction industry.
The award presented to Aztech Engineering will provide financial assistance, enabling the company to conduct a technical and commercial feasibility study on a new device to apply plaster to walls and ceilings. The plastering prototype will be for use within the construction industry and will provide a novel technical advance to the current time and labour intensive method. Aztech are confident the final prototype will have the ergonomics, weight and control of a machine that could revolutionise the industry.
The new machine technology designed and currently under construction by Aztech could spell the end for labour intensive plastering, which often results in many cases of lower back and joint problems among plasterers and labourers alike.
